Career Journey

Staff Engineer — Head of Engineering

Stamina.ioFull-time ContractJun 2025 - PresentNew York, United States · Remote
  1. Founding Backend Engineer — Lead Jun 2025
  2. Staff Engineer — Head of Engineering Apr 2026

AI sales, CRM and marketing SaaS used by 1,000+ customers in 50+ countries.

As Head of Engineering, lead the 10-engineer team, report to the CEO, and own the technical roadmap, planning, weekly releases, on-call and incident response; shipped SSO/OAuth2, RBAC and an OAuth 2.1 MCP server for larger accounts.
Ran hiring end to end (20+ interviews) as the team grew from 4 to 10 engineers; introduced ADRs for cross-team design decisions, architecture standards and code review practices.
Kept 99.9%+ uptime through SLOs, alerting on OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana, an on-call rotation and blameless postmortems, and made merges safer with a PR check that boots the full 20-service fleet before anything ships.
Owned the cloud budget and vendor choices and cut cloud spend by 40% by scaling queue workers to zero when there was no work; kept LLM spend in check with shared rate budgets across every worker and per-task model routing (70% lower cost per lead).
Stayed hands-on on revenue systems: Zara, the AI SDR agent (20K leads/day, doubled reply rates), the workflow engine (5,000+ workflows/day) and the credit ledger behind usage billing.
As founding engineer (Jun 2025 – Apr 2026), built the core platform while ARR grew from $250K to $2M+ in 9 months, including Twilio calling for 200+ customers making 5,000+ calls/day.

What Colleagues Say

Colin Harman

Colin Harman

Colin managed Govind directly at Nesh · July 3, 2025

Govind was an incredible asset on the Nesh team and a wonderful colleague to work with. He took full responsibility for every area that he worked on, and constantly provided us with true software engineering rigor: attacking tech debt, designing for maintainability, enhancing availability, and identifying risks long before they became production problems. I quickly found that Govind could take the thorniest, most confusing problems and return promptly with bulletproof forever solutions already implemented. He has a true engineer mindset, and in addition to his impressive skills he was a very positive presence on the team, leading by example and collaborating actively.

I'm excited to recommend Govind, who joined Nesh as a Full-Stack Developer and quickly became indispensable. Govind architected and shipped a suite of AI-powered agents — everything from product recommendation and comparison engines to account-planning and cross/upsell tools — that unlocked new revenue streams and delighted our customers. His deep technical chops let him move from concept to production in record time, and his clean, maintainable code kept our platform rock-solid. What really sets Govind apart is his sharp intellect and candid collaboration style. He iterates at great speed, isn't afraid to speak up when he sees a better solution, and helps the whole team level up by sharing his insights. He plugged into our cross-functional squad seamlessly and raised the bar for the rest of us. Any organization looking to accelerate its AI roadmap and build robust, user-centric features would be lucky to have Govind on the team.

About

Beyond Engineering

What I do when I am not shipping.

Govind Sharma outside work
Govind Sharma

Outside work I travel, train at the gym, and build small products of my own. All three keep me honest about what real users need.

Travel

New cities and local food whenever I can. It is a regular reminder that users live in very different contexts from mine.

Fitness

I train on a fixed routine. Showing up consistently beats any single great session, in the gym and in engineering.

Building Tools

Side products like FastBowlingLab keep me close to the whole job, from first idea to real users.
